Beacon Onshore AI — Support

Beacon Onshore AI monitors your proximity to nearby Bluetooth beacons and alerts you when you move in or out of a distance you set. If something isn't working, start here.

Troubleshooting

The app isn't detecting any beacons

• Make sure Bluetooth is on in iOS Settings or Control Center.
• Open iOS Settings › Beacon Onshore AI and confirm Bluetooth and Location access are allowed. iOS requires location permission for Bluetooth beacon ranging — the app does not use it to track where you are.
• Confirm the beacon is powered on, its battery is good, and you are within its broadcast range (typically a few metres to a few tens of metres, depending on the hardware).
• Some beacons take a few seconds to appear after you come into range.

Distance readings jump around

Distance is estimated from Bluetooth signal strength, which is affected by walls, metal, how you hold the phone, and other radio traffic. Treat the reading as an approximate range, not a precise measurement. Readings settle when you and the beacon are still.

I'm not getting alerts

• Allow Notifications for Beacon Onshore AI in iOS Settings.
• Check that the beacon has a distance threshold set and that you are actually crossing it.
• iOS limits what apps can do in the background. For the most reliable alerts, keep the app open while you need active monitoring.

Battery use

Continuous Bluetooth scanning uses power. If you only need monitoring at certain times, close the app when you're done, or reduce the number of beacons you track.

Deleting your data

Beacon Onshore AI keeps its beacon list and settings only on your device. Deleting the app removes everything. See the Privacy Policy for details.
